Career

Joined the firm in 1991 and was made partner in 2003. He practiced in the Barcelona office between 1991 and 1992. Since 1993, took up residence in Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands), being Head of the Majorca office since 1996. He handles a wide range of business transactions, concentrating on the Hospitality & Leisure Industry and coordinating several high profile tourism transactions in Spain. He is also tax advisor of various banks and other finnancial institutions. José Manuel is specialized in tax and corporate law, being secretary of the Board of Directors of many relevant companies. He is also frequent speaker at civic and professional gatherings and contributes articles to a variety of professional publications.

  • CHANGES IN THE REGIME GOVERNING RESTRICTIONS ON VOTING RIGHTS AT SPANISH LISTED COMPANIES

    On June 17, 2010, following a rough and eventful passage through Parliament, the Lower House of the Spanish Parliament finally approved a transcendental amendment to the Spanish Corporations Law (to article 105.2) affecting only listed corporations: a prohibition on voting ceilings for a same shareholder (or companies in the same group), regardless of the number of shares they own.
