Partner specialising in salvage, collision, total loss, wreck removal and pollution, acting mainly for salvors, shipowners, hull underwriters and P&I Clubs; also handles marine insurance, general shipping and commercial law MOA disputes, charterparty disputes and cargo claims; important cases have included Scandinavian Star, Mineral Dampier collision with Hanjin Madras, Happy Fellow collision with Darfur, Europa collision with Inchon Glory, Belgrave and Smit Tak B.V v Selco Salvage; Limburg (suicide bombing of tanker in Yemen) and Tricolor (car carrier that had four collisions and sank in the Channel); clients include several leading salvage companies, shipowners, P&I Clubs, hull underwriters, ship managers, insurance brokers and one southern hemisphere tycoon. Has lectured on Admiralty law in Mexico and Venezuela in Spanish, and in London, Piraeus and Asia. Has dealt with over 100 piracy cases off Somalia since July 2008.
