Position

Gary is an experienced criminal defence lawyer and a partner at HJA with a wide experience of criminal cases specialising in serious crime. This includes conspiracy cases, drug importation matters, human trafficking allegations, fraud and has represented many people charged with murder securing an acquittal in the last year and currently pursuing the defence of insanity/diminished responsibility.

He is also an experienced Magistrates Court advocate most recently having been acquitted of complicated common assault matters and is regularly asked to act for clients who face prosecution in relation to dangerous dog offences.

He has experience in representing defendants under the umbrellas of both publically funded work and private client cases always preparing for and presenting a robust defence for his clients.

Career

Gary trained at a South London firm and was a senior lawyer in a well-known practice before joining HJA and being made a partner in 2018.

Gary is a member of the LCCSA and the Fraud Lawyers Association.

Anglia Ruskin University (BA Hons History and Law)

Gary’s passion is firmly cemented for criminal defence work leading to him completing his LPC at the College of Law in Store Street London before being offered a training contract.

Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors advises on serious crimes including extradition, murder, sexual crimes, drugs offences, dangerous driving and those with human rights aspects. It represents vulnerable individuals and also high-net-worth individuals such as celebrities. Raj Chada leads on advising 15 defendants who prevented a plane deporting refugees from taking off at Stansted airport by breaking into the airport and blocking the runway; the case is ongoing. Nigel Richardson heads the team, supported by Graeme Hydari and senior associate Gary Monks. Kiran Mehta and Atiyah Malik joined as partners. Samira Noor Khan left the firm.
