Position
Toby’s work involves the conduct of ancillary relief and children matters at all levels. He has been involved in several cases representing minor children whose financial interests are threatened by their parents’ divorce proceedings, as well as complex matters concerning trust interests and assets beyond the jurisdiction. He represents a number of children for whom guardians have been appointed in private law disputes between their parents. Cases of note include Charalambous v Charalambous [2004] EWCA Civ 1030 and FLR 1093, in which he represented the children in a complex case involving overseas trust assets, and more recently the high-profile case of Vaughan v Vaughan [2010] 2 FLR 1290, where he acted for the successful wife in her appeal, the case being named one of the top ten important family cases of 2010 by Jordan’s Weekly. Toby has been involved in lecturing and teaching on a variety of subjects and acted as advisor to the Archbishop’s Council in formulating domestic violence policy.
