Position
Head of regulatory and dispute resolution team; handles a wide range of health and safety and regulatory cases. Over 30 years in practice, he has built a strong reputation for civil litigation but more recently, has moved practice to regulatory, particularly health and safety. Handles prosecutions for the HSE, local authorities and other regulatory agencies. Also has a niche practice in firearms law; Solicitor-advocate, practising in both crown and magistrates’ courts.
Career
Articled Percy Hughes & Roberts; qualified 1974; partner Wayman-Hales 1980; partner Hill Dickinson 1997; appointed as a Recorder 2003; sat as a Deputy District Judge from 1989 to 2004. ?For eight years Simon was a member of the Law Society’s civil litigation committee; he sat on Lord Woolf’s working group on the fast track in 1995-96 together with a number of other working groups concerning civil litigation. He has higher rights of audience ?in all courts as a Solicitor Advocate and is one of only two ?solicitors on the Attorney-General’s panel of junior counsel for ?non CPS cases.
