Panagiotis Tzioumas, Managing Partner

Managing Partner Panagiotis Tzioumas explains how the firm is adapting to clients’ changing needs

1) What do you see as the main points that differentiate KLC from your competitors?

The main points that differentiate KLC Law Firm from our competitors, are the client-oriented approach and the coherent internal structure of our team which enable us to cater for the needs of our clients in a responsive and efficient manner. Our competitive advantage is the specialisation of our lawyers in various legal areas and at the same time, the ability to combine our expertise from various fields and practices in order to provide comprehensive advice to our clients.

2) Which practices do you see growing in the next 12 months? What are the drivers behind that?

In view of the current condition of the Greek economy we expect the privatization, debt restructuring, project finance, capital market, real estate and M&A practices to grow in the next 12 months.

3) What's the main change you've made in the firm that will benefit clients?

We have completed a round of internal restructuring that allows us to retain the highest productive capacity at affordable rates, thus safeguarding the long-term relationships with our client base.

4) Is technology changing the way you interact with your clients, and the services you can provide them?

We are fully aware of the growing impact of technology on law firms and we carefully observe the competition before investing in new tech solutions. At present we are using advanced custom made internal systems which facilitate the effective delivery of services and client management.

5) Can you give us a practical example of how you have helped a client to add value to their business?

We have helped a couple of our clients organize their in-house department by providing flexible solutions which included provisions of services via secondment agreements in combination of provision of expert advice at a day to day basis or at demanding projects. Our Dispute Resolution practice has significantly contributed to the business of our clients by way of either positive court judgements and arbitral decisions awarding in their favor considerable amounts, or by contributing in resolution of disputes via favorable settlements.

6) Are clients looking for stability and strategic direction from their law firms - where do you see the firm in three years’ time?

The clients are looking for solid and sound legal assessment and advice from external counsels in relation to their strategic business planning. The firm is investing in developing tight relationships with its clients, undertaking this way an important role in the client’s decision making. In three years’ time we aim to a broader clientele for which KLC will be the most entrusted source of provision of legal services.
