PRAGUE, January 16, 2008 - BBH has been selected by the Czech National Bank (CNB) as its main legal advisor for the highly important Capital Markets legislation and supervision areas.

Brzobohatý, Brož & Honsa, v.o.s. advised ČEZ, a.s., the largest electricity producer in the Czech Republic, the shares of which are admitted to trading on the regulated markets in the Czech republic and Poland, in relation to the share buy-back of ČEZ shares up to the estimated volume of CZK 60 billion (approx. EUR 2 billion).

Tomáš Otruba, Petr Mlejnek and Tomáš Sedláček in 2003 acted as advisor on the structuring of securitization transaction methods and the preparation of the relevant documentation. It was the first ever rated and completed securitization not only in the Czech Republic, but in the whole of Central and Eastern Europe.

This transaction involving the sale of 29 buildings and related land plots throughout the Czech Republic, including a number of lease-back deals, is valued at approximately 6.1 billion CZK. BBH represented Česká pojišťovna, a.s. as the seller and lessee who was selling these properties to Office Star group (PPF Investments) as the purchaser and lesser and who is working with Česká spořitelna as the financing bank, providing PPFI with a loan facility for financing a part of the purchase price.

Formally established in April 2006, the firm was inaugurated with a cocktail reception on June 15, 2006 at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Moscow, the Russian Federation in the presence of the Ambassador, Mr. Miroslav Kostelka, and attended by many distinguished Czech, Russian and other business persons conducting local and international enterprises.
