Associated Partner Monard-D'Hulst. Ben Hermans (°1970, Antwerp, Belgium) is recommended by the Legal500 and practices law in the fields of dispute resolution (including a strong international arbitration practise), intellectual property and information technology (ICT) law, commercial law and competition law and has extensive experience in the venture capital & private equity sector. He represents and advises both Belgian and multinational corporations and investment funds. He is member of CEPANI (, Belgium's largest arbitration institution.


Before joining the Monard-D’Hulst law firm in 2003, Ben Hermans worked as a parliamentary aid to former European Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht and acted as an independent adviser to various Belgian and foreign technology companies and investment funds including NY based Furman Selz and Belgium's largest listed venture capital fund GIMV (1997-2003). He was involved in the IPO of three technology companies to the Belgian stock-market and/or NASDAQ. He speaks frequently as a guest-lecturer on intellectual property and information technology. He is a director of several IT start-ups.
