Ms. Manayenko’s areas of specialization are corporate and commercial law, subsoil use law, construction and antitrust legislation.

Yelena has many times participated in the support of M&A transactions and due diligence of major Kazakhstan companies from different sectors of economy.

Ms. Manayenko’s experience in the subsoil use sphere encompasses support of major transactions and projects, including production, processing and transportation of oil and gas, and mining production.

Yelena advises clients on the issues of structuring local and international transactions, drafting and coordination of commercial contracts, including sale and purchase agreements, as well as services, supply, construction, lease, franchise and distribution agreements, and represents clients’ interests in relations with counterparties and governmental agencies.

Before joining AEQUITAS in 2016, Yelena worked as a senior associate at a local office of the international law firm Norton Rose Fulbright, and as a lawyer at a local branch of Hurricane Overseas Services Inc.

AEQUITAS has key strengths in restructuring, M&A and asset transfers, with notable expertise in labour law. The firm advised Knauf Gypsum in relation to the proposed acquisition of Bias Tech, which owns gypsum factories across Kazakhstan. Lead partner Nurlan Sholanov was supported by a large team that included Natalya Braynina and Yuliya Chumachenko. Braynina also advised a Chinese energy client on issues relating to the acquisition of Kazakh assets, namely a subsoil use company and parent company; senior associate Yelena Manayenko, who has experience in the natural resources sector, supported on this matter.
