Career

Boris is a highly skilled commercial and arbitration lawyer with over 15 years of professional experience in Serbia and throughout the region. For the past decade he has provided legal services to local and international clients in cooperation with different international law firms.

He has represented clients in arbitration proceedings before the local and international arbitration forums under VIAC rules, ICC rules, UNCITRAL rules, BAC rules, Rules of the Permanent Court of Arbitration of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and rules of Arbitrational Court of the Serbian Football Association. He acted as an arbitrator in international arbitrations under VIAC and BAC rules.

Boris advised major international oil and gas, mining, construction, pharmaceutical and distribution companies in their acquisitions and business operations in Serbia and region. He has significant experience in assisting prominent clients with comprehensive contractual law advice, drafting of commercial documents and legal opinions included. He understands all aspects of commercial relations and has vast experience in the restructuring and privatization process. Boris advised international banks and clients in the process of negotiating and drafting of  sophisticated Facility Agreements and supportive set of security/guarantee documents. He assisted to international clients in different tax and customs related proceedings as well as represented them in numerous sophisticated bankruptcy and litigation proceedings.

  • Transaction complete: Mid Europa Partners sells Bambi

    The leading private equity investor in Central and Eastern Europe Mid Europa Partners sold Bambi, the leading Serbian biscuit and confectionary maker, to Coca-Cola HBC. The sale was completed on 18 June, and Bambi, one of the most recognisable brands in Serbia, will continue its development under  Coca-Cola HBC .
  • Use of a Feed-In Premium for Photovoltaic Electricity

    The¬† Government of North Macedonia ¬†announced an open call for awarding a contract for the use of a feed-in premium for electricity produced in photovoltaic power plants (‚ÄúPVPPs ‚ÄĚ) on state land in North Macedonia, with total installed capacity of 35 MW. Two locations are envisaged for construction of the PVPPs ‚Äď Azambegovo (Sveti Nikole) and Manastirec (Makedonski Brod). Bidders can submit a bid for three PVPPs, at most, for the location of Azambegovo, as well as one PVPP on the location of Manastirec. The installed capacity of the PPVPs on the mentioned locations can be 10 MW, 5 MW, 2 MW and 1 MW depending on the parcel. The term of the contract for the use of a feed-in premium will be 15 years.

  • NiŇ°-Ekspres Fined for Abuse of Dominance

    On 24 May, the¬† Serbian Competition Commission ¬†fined the bus company NiŇ°-Ekspres from NiŇ° (‚ÄúNiŇ°-Ekspres ‚ÄĚ) for the abuse of dominant position in the amount of RSD 40,726,439 (app. EUR 345,000), which is 1.3% of the total turnover generated by NiŇ°-ekspres in 2016.
  • What to watch out for in case of a hard Brexit and ZUVIZK

    The¬† European Commission ¬†consistently emphasises the citizens‚Äô rights and status in its hard Brexit preparations and contingency works. It appealed to EU Member Stats to take a generous approach towards the rights of UK citizens in the EU, given that the UK reciprocates such an approach. Therefore, in line with the Commission‚Äôs ‚Äúno-deal‚ÄĚ Contingency Action Plan, the Slovenian Government proposed and the Parliament adopted the Act regulating certain issues in the event of the withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from European Union without an Agreement (ZUVIZK).
