The firm

AddVANTE was set up in the 1990s as a professional services firm with the aim of meeting the professional goals of partners and associates and providing outstanding service to clients. The firm’s team draws on extensive experience in the provision of legal and economic-financial services. Enric Faura and David Martínez were responsible for creating, designing and planning the firm. Both held senior positions at Spanish and international auditing and consultancy firms. Professional business advisers, financial consultants and lawyers with specialised training in different business areas progressively joined this initial core.

Now, AddVANTE is an internationally oriented professional services firm, with over 20 years’ experience providing legal and financial counselling in Spain. Professionals specialise in different areas of law, tax, mergers and acquisitions, economic and financial consulting. The firm favours interdisciplinarity as a key principle to increase the value and profitability and to ensure successful development of clients’ projects. Lawyers focus on problem-solving with a multilateral approach. Services adjust to clients’ business reality and their phase in the economic cycle, with the purpose of adding maximum value to decision making.

Areas of practice

AddVANTE is organised by professional areas so as to ensure that lawyers and economists with different profiles and experiences get involved in client matters. The firm sees the accumulation of knowledge of its partners and associates as the firm’s greatest asset.

Restructuring and bankruptcy: the team design and implement the right strategy to successfully handle insolvency and business restructuring processes, and to effectively manage crisis situations, insolvency proceedings, and the winding-up of businesses.

Banking and finance: as banking and finance legal advisors the firm works in several market sectors, in particular renewable energy, and it has been engaged in projects of financial restructuring and relaunching of real estate companies, a sector hit very hard by the ongoing crisis.

Energy: with over 15 years’ experience advising companies in the energy sector, particularly on renewable energies and energy efficiency, AddVANTE has built up an expert team in this field. It provides entities in the sector with advice on the contractual, legal, business and regulatory aspects of all types of transactions.

Commercial: the firm has expertise in commercial and company law. Main services in this area include advising clients on the negotiation and execution of corporate resolutions, on how best to achieve their commercial goals, and defending clients in disputes and the drafting, negotiation and execution of agreements.

Litigation: the firm has substantial experience in commercial litigation and ADR, with some of its lawyers defending parties in trials, hearings, arbitrations and mediations before courts, including the Supreme Court, and administrative agencies. In complex business disputes, we advise at all stages of the dispute, devising, in each of them, assertive, probability oriented and cost efficient strategies.

Tax: AddVANTE’s taxation unit provides tax advice in all business areas, covering the entire range of regular company activities. It also provides tax advice on one-off transactions and tax planning services for business entities and with respect to personal and family property.Labour: the labour department advises clients on all labour related matters, including employment relationships, hiring, collective agreements and negotiations, labour audits and conflicts of jurisdiction.

M&A: AddVANTE’s M&A unit provides services to companies, venture capital firms and banks in relation to investment, divestment and company restructuring. It is involved at every transaction stage, from the negotiation and conclusion of preliminary agreements to the signing of purchase and sale agreements. In the case of mergers, it assists clients with the corporate resolutions and specific procedures necessary to execute the merger.
