Interview with Magnus Ødegaard about new rules on product placements
The Norwegian Broadcasting Act of 1992 was related to traditional broadcasting. The Act changed its name with effect from 1 January 2013 to Act on broadcasting and audiovisual ordering services.
The main change is that the new regulation now also governs audiovisual ordering services. The new regulation implements the Audiovisual Media Services Directive from the EU. This AVMS Directive modernizes TV advertising rules to better finance audiovisual content.
Another main change is that the Act now contains new rules that define the conditions under which product placement is permitted.
