Partner Jon Wesse-Aas has been awarded human rights prize

Partner in Bing Hodneland, Jon Wessel-Aas has been awarded The Law Students Human Rights Prize for 2013. The prize is awarded by the students and law-students groups of Amensty International.

Jon Wessel-Aas has been awarded the prize for his extensive contribution to human rights in general and freedom of speech in particular, over a long period of time. The way he has been combining the use of his own voice in the public debate and being advocate others is an inspiration for law students.

In the reasons presented for awarding Jon Wessel-Aas the prize, it is said that he is one of the leading media lawyers in Norway, with strong contributions in freedom of speech, freedom of information, privacy and data protection, rule of law and human rights in general. Jon Wessel-Aas is chairing the Norwegian branch of International Commission of Jurists (ICJ).

Jon Wessel-Aas has written a number of articles and has contributed in many books on the subjects mentioned.
