Monica focuses on M&A, energy and natural resources, corporate and commercial law. She holds extensive experience in the energy and natural resources sector, having acted in prominent transactions in the electricity field across the entire value chain from generation to supply, transmission and distribution as well as in oil and gas projects and regularly advises on regulatory issues related to market operation. She has extensive experience in M&A, governance matters, corporate reorganizations and commercial matters having acted in a wide range of M&A transactions, both domestic and cross-border, joint ventures, company restructuring, spin-offs and divestments for both leading domestic and international companies. Highlight recent deals include: (1) advising Societatea Nationala Nuclearelectrica SA in the project for the development of units 3 & 4 of the Cernavoda nuclear power plant and the establishment of a joint-venture with China General Nuclear Power Corporation, following the nuclear power development strategy enacted in 2014; (2) advising a financial investment company in relation to the acquisition of the business carried out and the related portfolio of assets held by two entities developing agricultural activities; (3) advising one of the largest oil and gas companies in relation to the investigation of various contractual structures for the development and exploitation of a large gas fired co-generation capacity and in relation to regulatory matters; (4) advising a top tier Romanian bank in relation to the acquisition of a portfolio of assets pertaining to a banking business; (5) advising one of the largest privately owned business groups in Romania, in relation to the restructuring and streamlining of the management and corporate structures across the various jurisdictions where the group companies reside; (6) advising two of the largest multi-level marketing companies in the world in relation to the implementation of their trading systems in Romania; the assistance included advice in relation to a wide array of commercial matters such as forbidden / unfair commercial practices, data protection, IT and IP law matters, consumer protection regulations, labeling.
