A firm devoted to support its clients’ business

IXAS CONSEIL is an Intellectual Property law firm based in Lyon, France. The firm was established in 1989 and reshaped in 2005 when Martin P. Schmidt joined the firm as a managing partner. The firm is recommended by LEGAL 500 since 2008.

IXAS CONSEIL provides a synthesis of legal accuracy and strategic thinking. IP assets are viewed as business assets which need, directly or indirectly, to provide a competitive advantage to its owner, and to create value. Most of our senior counsels have worked in multinational industrial companies and are familiar with the strategic issues of IP.

A reliable partner for IP in Europe

IXAS CONSEIL is admitted to represent clients before the following offices: French National Intellectual Property Office (INPI), European Patent Office (EPO), European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA).

IXAS CONSEIL is a “one stop shop” for Intellectual Property in France, Germany and Europe. This saves our clients’ money by avoiding double representation in France and Germany. Through its network of foreign associates, IXAS CONSEIL can represent its clients everywhere in the world.

A wide range of clients

Our clients are mainly industrial companies based in Europe (France, Germany, U.K., Belgium, Spain, Italy, Finland etc), in the U.S.A., in Canada and in the United Arab Emirates, as well as law firms. A dedicated and highly qualified staff

Our patent consultants are highly qualified engineers or scientists (the majority of which having earned a PhD), our legal consultants are highly qualified lawyers. All our consultants are fluent in English and most have a second foreign language in addition to French. We are able to work directly in English, French, and German for patent drafting, legal counselling and negotiations as well as in oral proceedings.
