Head of Regulatory

Kathryn is renowned for her innovative approach that enables her clients to achieve their corporate goals without compromising their compliance strategies.

Kathryn Gilbertson is a director and head of the firm’s Regulatory team. She advises international and national companies on UK/European regulatory issues, including providing advice on food safety, product liability, health and safety, environmental and corporate governance matters.

Kathryn has a unique insight into the regulatory regime within which all companies trade in the UK and Europe, because of her ten years of experience as a prosecutor/compliance officer for various government agencies. She assists clients by developing self-auditing compliance protocols and reviewing due diligence defences through to defending companies and their directors in corporate manslaughter prosecutions following workplace accidents.

In addition, she has the technical skills to assist site and project managers on specific issues as well as being able to advise company directors on both their own personal and their company’s liability following an incident.

Kathryn is recognised by the legal directories as a leader in the field where ‘observers regard her as a highly accomplished regulatory lawyer.’ She regularly writes for industry journals on regulatory developments and is a frequently speaker at national and international conferences on developing issues such as corporate manslaughter, fire safety, trends in food poisoning etc. She has been called to advise government agencies on the practical aspects of regulatory enforcement matters.
