The firm: The roots of the firm go back more than 150 years and today it has offices at Attleborough, Wymondham, Norwich, Long Stratton and Watton. The partners are pursuing a strategy of carefully managed growth. In 2006 the firm of Pomeroys joined Greenland Houchen and is now the firm’s Wymondham office.

Types of work undertaken:Commercial expertise includes all aspects of buying and selling businesses, from TUPE matters to share restructuring, shareholders’ agreements and service contracts. Leases and commercial freeholds are handled and advice is given on finance and commercial mortgages. Advice is given on planning applications, exclusion of security of tenure, agreements to lease and tenancies at will, as well as tax planning. Agricultural property is a particular specialism including buying and selling farmland. Housing development expertise includes planning and building control, land acquisition, commercial mortgages and housing estate development. As well as housing associations, the firm acts for a leading regional property development company and has acted for UK banks in relation to commercial mortgages, as well as LSE-quoted companies in the brewing and commercial property fields.
Tenancy management expertise covers injunctions and possession proceedings, as well as all aspects of public sector housing matters. The firm has special expertise in handling anti-social behaviour issues. Employment law services for employers include advice on polices and procedures, Employment Tribunal proceedings, advice on discipline and redundancies and advice on European directives.
Services for individuals include all aspects of family law, from divorce and separation to mediation and finances, and children and child care. Employment services for employees cover all types of difficulties at work, from losing a job to compromise agreements. Residential conveyancing is a specialism and dispute resolution services include bringing and defending court proceedings in matters such as defective products and workmanship, and landlord and tenant disputes. Personal injury is a specialism from car accidents to criminal assaults, and accidents at work.
Advice is given on tax liabilities, including inheritance issues, as well as drawing up wills, family trusts and administration of estates.
