Selected recent major instructions in 2010-2011 include: advising the ministry of economy and Hidroelectrica, the state-owned energy producer, as part of an international consortium, in connection with the selection of investors for the construction of Tarnita-Lapustesti Hydropower Plant, a project estimated to require an investment exceeding €1.3 bn.

Advising European investment fund in connection with a first loss portfolio guarantee granted to BCR and Raiffeisen Bank in relation to an agreed portfolio loan volume of €315m, in the context of implementation of the JEREMIE (Joint European Resources for Micro to Medium Enterprises) initiative in Romania.

Advising Grupo Lar, a leading Spanish real estate developer, in connection with various land acquisitions in Bucharest and Cluj and developing residential compounds with a project investment value in excess of €300m.

Advising Colas, the world leader in the construction and maintenance of infrastructure for transport, with regard to the renegotiation and restructuring of two FIDIC agreements concluded with The National Highway and Road Company (CNADNR), totalling €190m.

Assisting Roche Romania during the insolvency procedure initiated against one of the biggest Romanian distributors of pharmaceutical products, for recovering commercial debts amounting €80m.

Advising Raiffeisen Bank International in connection with a €71.5m loan facility granted to Bucuresti Turism, owner of Radisson Blu – five star hotel in Bucharest and Centre Ville – elite hospitality complex.

Advising Mediterranean Car Agency LTD Israel in connection with the acquisition of two entities that are part of Autoitalia Group - Autoitalia Impex, the Romanian importer of the Italian car brands Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Maserati, and Japan Motor Brands, the local partner of the Japanese brand Infinity.

Assisting the ministry of economy and the Office for State Ownership and Privatisation in Industry (OPSPI) in connection with the privatization of Oltchim SA.

Representing Rompetrol Group NV, in a high-profile dispute, initiated against CNVM (National Securities Commission). The case has been recently won by the firm as the Court cancelled regulator’s decision to block the delisting process of Rompetrol Rafinare and ordered CNVM to pay damages to the firm’s client.

Representing CFR, the national railway company, in a complex ICC arbitration concerning the performance of a FIDIC agreement for the modernisation of Timisoara rail station.

Assisting the ministry of economy and the Office for State Ownership and Privatisation in Industry (OPSPI) in connection with the secondary public offering on the Bucharest stock exchange for the purposes of the sale by the Romanian state of the share held in Transgaz and Transelectrica.

Representing Generali Holding Vienna AG in a complex price fixing cartel investigation and Generali Fond de Pensii SA in the investigations undertaken by the competition council regarding a market sharing cartel on the privately administered compulsory pensions (2nd pillar) market.
