Karanovic & Partners Promotes New Senior Associates

Karanović & Partners is pleased to announce that Milorad GajićAndrej JelenkovićMina Srećković, Amina Đugum and Lejla Popara, have been named Senior Associates.* These talented individuals have established themselves as key members of our team, and their promotion reflects their professionalism, as well as exemplary service to clients.

Milorad Gajić specialises in real estate matters. Milorad is experienced in advising clients on all matters related to real estate, covering investment sales and acquisitions in private and public deals, ownership issues, restitution claims, conversion issues, property developments, construction contracts, hotel operation agreements and property joint ventures.

Mina Srećković a team member of the Banking and Finance Practice Group. She has worked within the team advising clients on a full range of insurance and banking and finance issues, with a specific focus on PPPs, public debt financing, foreign exchange regulations and cross border transactions, project finance, non-performing loans, equity and debt securities transactions, as well as regulatory compliance and licensing of institutions operating in the banking and financial sector in Serbia..

Andrej Jeleković is a member of the Dispute Resolution Practice Group. He has specialised experience in common commercial disputes, with a particular focus on financing, construction and the retail business. Andrej represents multinational and domestic companies in various dispute claims, including bankruptcy procedures and pre-packed reorganisation plans (APPRP).

Amina Đugum is an independent Attorney at Law qualified in Bosnia and Herzegovina, practicing in cooperation with Karanovic & Partners. She is a member of the Corporate, Banking & Finance and Real Estate Practice Groups. Amina has a broad commercial practice with particular focus on merger and acquisition transactions, including preparation and negotiation of relevant agreements, coordinating and conducting due diligence investigations, as well as greenfield investment and corporate structuring. She also advises clients on cross-border finance transactions and real estate ventures, such as project development, construction and real estate acquisition.

Lejla Popara is an independent Attorney at Law qualified in Bosnia and Herzegovina, practicing in cooperation with Karanovic & Partners. She is a member of the Dispute Resolution, Employment and Corporate & Commercial Practice Groups. Lejla has extensive experience in advising clients on all types of transactions including M&As, corporate restructuring and project financings with a particular focus on transactional agreements and the due diligence process. She also regularly provides day-to-day employment and corporate advisory to clients, helping them with matters of governance, compliance, regulatory and commercial aspects of their business, and also represents them before courts as well as other dispute resolution and administrative authorities.

*The term "Senior Associates" refers to independent attorneys at law cooperating with the Karanović & Partners OAD Belgrade, with adequate professional qualifications in the respective jurisdiction in which any such person is a qualified attorney at law, with the effect, in particular, to the responsibilities within specific projects.

The new law was long-awaited: it has been 10 years since the existing law was passed, which was even at that moment already outdated (e.g. it recognized only consent in the written form and almost completely restricted data transfers to non-European countries).
