From the beginning of January, 2006, Gabriel Zb�rcea is Managing Partner together with Florentin Ţuca, one of the firm's founders. Gabriel will play a key role in the development of the firm's business strategy, as well as being responsible for the creation of a powerful brand identity. Previously, Gabriel and Florentin worked together for 10 years in a well-known Romanian law firm.

Gabriel Zb�rcea joins Ţuca & Asociaţii after spending some time in the spotlight of public life, having been advisor to the Prime Minister and then President of the Authority for State Assets Recovery (AVAS). He is also the former President of the Privatization Commission for Banca Comercială Rom�nă (BCR). In this position, he supervised the privatization process of BCR, including the submissions of the final, binding bids. Gabriel was also appointed as the co-ordinator of the Inter-ministerial Committee for chapter 6 on Competition.

On returning to his great passion, practicing law, Gabriel said, 'I returned to my profession as a lawyer because I like it. It suits me best. And I chose Ţuca & Asociaţii since most of my friends and former colleagues are here. Together, we succeeded in doing a lot of things in the past. And now that we are together again we will succeed in doing a lot of things in the future by building on the successes of the past.'

The 'Financial Weekly' magazine awarded Gabriel Zb�rcea the 'Mr. RON Bronze' prize in recognition of his 'professionalism in the preparation of the Banca Comercială Rom�nă privatization.'

The firm also announced the appointment of Robert Roşu as Partner. Having practiced for over 7 years, Robert heads the Litigation and Arbitration Department and will be responsible for the firm's strategy in this field, seeking to structure the firm's litigation department along the same lines as legal practices in the West.

Robert Rosu has been a member of Ţuca & Asociaţii from its beginning in March, 2005. He was previously a senior associate within a well-known Romanian law firm. He said, 'Right from the start I believed that the blend of youth and experience at this company would be successful. By joining the other founders of Ţuca & Asociaţii today, this belief has become a fact. Also, the confidence the company has shown in me since I came to the firm represents a personal achievement in itself.'

As part of Ţuca & Asociaţii's immediate aims, a focus has been placed on building the brand, on the rapid growth of a team of lawyers and support staff, developing clients' portfolios, extending collaboration with international firms, becoming affiliated to professional associations and chambers of commerce and industry, as well as taking an active part in the community by getting involved in corporate and social responsibility projects.
