The firm

Bronsgeest Deur Advocaten is a leading specialist labour and employment law firm and was one of the first niche employment law firms in the Netherlands. The firm was founded in May 2003 by Henriëtte Bronsgeest and Erik Deur and offers clients the complete suite of labour and employment legal services as well as strategic development, advice and advocacy. The partners and associates all have an international commercial employment law background which is reflected in the broad range of Dutch and international clients and the extensive cross-border work with the firm undertakes.

BDA is an active member of Ius Laboris, the world’s largest human resources law firm alliance with more than 1,200 lawyers in over 100 countries. Membership of the alliance facilitates a global exchange of expertise and is one of the key factors enabling the firm to support clients on major cross-border projects.

Areas of practice

BDA covers all aspects of Dutch employment law, including individual and collective redundancies, co-determination rights, negotiations with trade unions, reviewing remuneration systems, advising on the employment law issues resulting from mergers and acquisitions, transfer of undertakings, in and outsourcing of personnel, employment agreements and enforcement of non-compete clauses.

The firm has significant contentious and employment dispute resolution expertise combined with well established relationships with specialist tax and pensions law advisors. Much of the firm’s work is cross-border particularly in Belgium, Germany and the UK including split salary contracts, cross border restructuring, data transfer, employment agreements and helpdesk arrangements.
