The worsening conflict in Libya caused MTL Law Office to temporarily close its office in February 2011 and, as a result, it carried out very little work for most of 2011. Most of its lawyers fled Tripoli, but the practice provided limited services remotely from Tunisia, advising some clients on force majeure issues and matters arising from the civil war. It has continued to provide assistance to its clients following the fall of the Gaddafi regime, and is expected to be fully functional again in 2012. Its areas of expertise include transport, contract and banking law, insurance and foreign investments. The practice is also especially well regarded for dispute resolution and commercial arbitration.
