WOLF THEISS ADVISES STEINKLAUBER GROUP AND CPA ON A JOINT VENTURE WITH VOESTALPINE AUSTRIA DRAHT
Vienna, 10 May 2012 – WOLF THEISS advised the Steinklauber Group and CPA on voestalpine Austria Draht GmbH's acquisition of a majority of the shares in CPA Filament GmbH to expand their activities in the field of wire processing.
The joint venture between voestalpine Austria Draht and the Steinklauber Group / CPA combines the Styria-based Steinklauber Group's know how as a technology supplier and plant constructor with the metallurgical experience of voestalpine Austria Draht. By year-end, the joint venture partners will commission a new facility in Fürstenfeld that is producing ultra-high-tensile fine wire (up to 0.08 mm). After the initial phase which is expected to create 40 new jobs and will have an annual capacity of approx. 3,000 tons, further expansions at the same location may follow.
With this joint project, also supported by SFG, the Styrian Business Promotion Agency, the joint venture partners are implementing an important step to expand their value creation chain. Lead Partner Clemens Philipp Schindler, in primary cooperation with Partner Christian Öhner, Senior Associate Katharina Bertinger and Associate Nikolaos Athanasiadis, handled the transaction on behalf of Wolf Theiss. Clemens Philipp Schindler recaps: "It was exciting to support such a high-tech project. It required close cooperation with the client as well as detailed agreements. Our well-attuned and experienced team handled this challenge successfully."
CPA Filament GmbH is a subsidiary of the Steinklauber Group, headquartered since 1925 in Graz. Steinklauber Industriebeteiligung and Vermögens-verwaltung GmbH, which serves as the holding company for CPA Industriegruppe, initially dealt with electric and pump systems construction. Since 2010, this business segment was concentrated in CPA Computer Process Automation GmbH, while CPA Filament took over the marketing and sale of special products and custom-made manufacturing for the wire segment of the Group. In addition to these subsidiaries, the Steinklauber Holding also has branch offices in Germany and China.
