Takis Kakouris is a partner of our corporate commercial practice. He was admitted to the Athens Bar in 1997 and joined our firm in 1998.

He has extensive experience in general corporate practice, advising multinational corporations on their investments in Greece by drafting and negotiating transactional and financial documents and implementing the relevant procedures, coordinating legal due diligence and advising on respective finance and regulatory issues. He advises local companies on ongoing corporate matters and drafts and negotiates complex commercial contracts.

In the insurance sector, Takis has strong experience in advising insurers, reinsurers and intermediaries on insurance contract and regulatory matters including formation and licensing of insurers, insurance M&A, portfolio transfers, run-off and insolvency, cross-border provision of services, insurance due diligence, prudential and other regulatory advice, drafting and placement of insurance policies, and customization of products to Greek law requirements.

Takis advises clients on all aspects of data protection covering a wide array of issues including the design and roll out of databases, drafting of PIAs, design of data transfer strategies, compliance training,  matters related to implications of cloud-based data processing, data processing agreements, drafting and implementation of privacy policies, related administrative and civil litigation.

In the field of compliance, he supports foreign clients on compliance issues ranging from the design of compliance, the conduct of internal investigations and implementation measures, advice on compliance infringements and regulatory audits/investigations to cooperation with and defense before supervisory and investigating authorities.
