Advisor to a number of oil service companies, related to day to day operations, tender processes, contract reviews, claims handlings, corporate restructurings, divestments and acquisitions. Extensive experience as M&A advisor to sellers and purchasers of oil service companies, including preparations for sale, vendor due diligence, purchaser due diligence, term sheet/LoI negotiations, SPA negotiations, closing and post closing integration processes. Extensive experience with contract issues (drafting, negotiations, project execution, contract disputes) in the oil and gas industry, both from the operator's and the contractor's side.

In a recent highlight, Stornes and Abrahamsen led advice to Neptune Energy Norge on its acquisition of VNG Norge. Other work includes assisting Repsol Norge with its purchase of participating interests in the Visund field on the NCS and acting for Faroe Petroleum on development projects in the Njord hub area. Olav Hasaas and litigator Amund Noss are also recommended.

  • Norway not included when short sale regulations in EU take effect 1 November 2012

    From 1 November 2012 EU Regulation 236/2012 on short selling and certain aspects of credit default swaps will come into effect. Although the Regulation is within the scope of the EEA Agreement, Norway has not implemented the EU Regulation. Based on unofficial information from the Norwegian authorities, we expect the implementation process to be delayed until at least late 2013. Meanwhile, existing rules on short sale in Norway will continue to apply for transactions performed on the Norwegian market.
