Position

Kjetil Stensvik has broad experience from the energy business through his nine years with Statoil/Equinor. He has particularly worked with large and complex development projects within oil, gas and renewables, and he has been involved in a number of the major field development projects on the Norwegian continental shelf over the last years. Stensvik has comprehensive contract law competence and extensive experience with negotiations and execution of all the main types of construction, sale, supply and installation contracts used in the business. He has also a broad experience with international projects, companies and contractors, hereunder from working in South Korea being responsible for the legal follow-up of all of Statoil’s/Equinor’s ongoing topside, substructure, rig and ship building projects in the country.

  • Norway not included when short sale regulations in EU take effect 1 November 2012

    From 1 November 2012 EU Regulation 236/2012 on short selling and certain aspects of credit default swaps will come into effect. Although the Regulation is within the scope of the EEA Agreement, Norway has not implemented the EU Regulation. Based on unofficial information from the Norwegian authorities, we expect the implementation process to be delayed until at least late 2013. Meanwhile, existing rules on short sale in Norway will continue to apply for transactions performed on the Norwegian market.
