Eördögh Bird & Bird lost key figure András Lendvai to Kõvári and Tercsák – Salans Ügyvédi Iroda. In May 2011, Lendvai was replaced by Richárd Eördögh, an experienced corporate lawyer with a strong background in private equity who joined from a position as head of legal affairs at Chayton Capital in London. Eördögh subsequently became managing partner of the firm following the departure of Andrea Simándi. Lexmark and Richemont are key clients.

Kõvári and Tercsák – Salans Ügyvédi Iroda’s ‘professional’ and ‘goal-oriented’ practice represents prestigious developers and banks – including Codic and UniCredit Bank – on large-scale real estate matters. Judit Kovári heads the group, which advised ING Real Estate Development on the €44m sale of certain retail property. Skanska, another key client, instructed the team to advise on a sustainable office building in Budapest and on phase two of the Népliget Center office project. Marcell Clark, a specialist in cross-border transactions, was made up to partner in 2010.

Eördögh Bird & Bird has endured a decline in the number of TMT mandates of late, and recently lost a prominent counsel when András Lendvai joined Kõvári and Tercsák – Salans Ügyvédi Iroda. Senior associate Titusz Puskár continues to provide regulatory advice to multinational companies including Lexmark, 3M and Richemont. Andrea Simándi left the firm in January 2012.

  • Changes in the Waste Management System

    The amendments adopted by the Parliament on July 1, 2011 to the Municipal Cleanliness and Tidiness Act bring revolutionary changes to the Polish waste management system. The Act is currently awaiting signing by the President. Once approved, the changes will become effective 12 months from the date the Act is published.
