Subbiah is a director in the housing department at Duncan Lewis. He has extensive experience in complex matters covering all aspects of landlord and social tenant issues. He specialises in housing issues including; possession actions, homelessness, illegal evictions, disrepair, and antisocial behaviour injunctions.

He has a particular interest in duties owed by local authorities to those who are vulnerable and has substantial experience in advising on homelessness and allocation rights, and challenging local authority decisions by County Court appeals and/or judicial review. He is a Duty Solicitor for the possession list in the Central London County Court and specialises in possession related litigation and representing tenants regularly in Court under the Court Duty Advocacy Scheme. Subbiah undertakes litigation works from County Court level to the House of Lords.


Subbiah qualified as a solicitor in 1996, he joined Duncan Lewis in 1999, and became a partner-level director in 2004




Subbiah has an M.Phil. and an M.A. in Archaeology. He completed his law degree in Madras Law College and enrolled as an Advocate in India in 1988. He practised in the Administrative Tribunals, High Court of Madras and Supreme Court of India before qualifying as a Solicitor in the UK.

Starting January 1st, 2013, a new tax law (Law No. 822, Tax Concertation Law) came into force in and completely changed the taxation system in Nicaragua. Two years later a new law was issued by the National Assembly containing more than 80 amendments, additions and repeals (Law No 891) which came into force December 18th, 2014.
