Henrik's speciality is primarily commercial law, and he advises and represents Danish and international companies and organisations within multiple areas. Henrik advises on such subjects as strategies for protection or exploitation of rights under the Copyright, Trademark, Patent and Marketing Acts; publishing agreements; music company agreements; all aspects of contracting within the construction law area; agreements on the performance of geothermal drilling projects; agreements on gas sales in and transportation of gas from the Danish fields in the North Sea; agreements on the development of IT solutions for both the private and public sectors; the provisions of the Danish Act on Processing of Personal Data and the Executive Order on Security; the special regulation of agreements on purchase and sale of heat under the Danish Heating Supply Act; the regulation in the Danish Telecommunications Act of VoIP and other applications on the border of intellectual property law and telecommunications law; loan agreements concerning works of art among museums and Danish or international owners; purchase and sale of companies and company law in general; procurement law; and contracting law in general. Henrik is a highly experienced litigator with special expertise in handling complicated cases. Within aviation, he represented Copenhagen Airports in the PRM case, a test case of fundamental importance for all airlines and airports in Denmark. In the IP-law area he has conducted cases for more than 10 years regarding the terms for broadcasting by radio and TV stations of copyright-protected works and sound recordings on FM, DAB and internet-based channels (both before the Danish Copyright Licence Tribunal, all Danish courts of law and the Court of Justice of the European Union). Over many years he has conducted numerous construction law cases regarding a variety of building projects, ranging from power stations to garden centres, hospitals, sports centres and various company headquarters and residential housing projects. From the energy and competition law area he has experience in international arbitration in several languages. Henrik also conducts cases regarding passing off and plagiarism, libel suits and other cases concerning invasion of privacy and defamation, as well as contract law cases in general, e.g. employment contracts for salaried workers and executive service agreements, and cases regarding tort and non-contractual damages (e.g. regarding product liability). Henrik co-authored the book "Personlighedsret" (Personality Rights) (published by Thomson, 2007) and the compendium "Entrepriseret" (Construction Law) (IBC Euroforum, 2007). He is a popular speaker in multiple fora.


Henrik joined Lassen Ricard in 2000 and was appointed partner in 2003. Henrik is a qualified mediator and member of Danish Mediation Lawyers. He was a member of the Board of Representatives of the Association of Danish Law Firms ("Danske Advokater") during the association's first six years (until 2014), during which period he also served on a number of committees under the Association. Henrik is active in various law societies and has been a member of the board of the Copenhagen Attorneys' Association ("Københavns Advokatforening") for almost 6 years.

Henrik Schütze was born in 1971, graduated at law (Master of Laws) from University of Copenhagen (1995), and from The Law School, The University of Chicago (LL.M., Master of Laws) (2000), and is admitted to the Supreme Court.
