Position
John joined Foot Anstey in 1993 after training and working with Mills and Reeve in Cambridge. John was made partner in 1996 and was elected as Foot Anstey’s managing partner in 2008. Under John’s leadership, the firm has developed significantly. The firm continues to grow and has strengthened core practice areas through the development of home-grown talent and the recruitment of top-quality legal specialists. The firm has invested heavily to create a first-class infrastructure and a strong market reputation. John led the firm’s drive to achieve Lexcel accreditation and to become the first firm in the UK to achieve the Law Society’s National Award for ‘Excellence in Practice Standards’. He has also led the firm’s recruitment drive for top lawyers and the negotiation and securing of the firm’s new offices, including the flagship offices at Salt Quay House on Plymouth’s waterfront and at High Water House in Truro.
