Position
James is one of the South West’s leading charity and social enterprise law specialists, and has over 14 years’ experience of acting for charities ranging from small grassroots groups through to national and international organisations. He also specialises in M&A, corporate finance, and general company and commercial matters. He is an active member of the Charity Law Association and a regular speaker on charity and social enterprise issues. He is also the sole legal representative on the panel established by the Social Enterprise Coalition to adjudicate on awards of the Social Enterprise Mark. Recent work highlights include advising on a significant number of academy school conversions and advising on the establishment of new social enterprises to undertake services currently provided within the NHS under the ‘Right to Request’ initiative.
