National Report of the Global Commercial Arbitrations Handbook Shall Be Processed by ROWAN LEGAL

November 2009

Supported by the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) reviews a globally-acclaimed publication - ICCA Handbook on Commercial Arbitration. The Czech national report for the handbook is to be drafted by MiloĹĄ OlĂk, an expert in international arbitration and leader of the arbitration team of ROWAN LEGAL, an international law firm with offices in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.

"We believe that having been approached by the editor to draft the new national report for such a prominent publication both proves the Czech Republic is long considered a modern state within the international legal environment and further acknowledges the long-lasting work of our team in the area of international arbitration,"says MiloĹĄ OlĂk, a partner at ROWAN LEGAL.

The handbook editor-in-chief is Prof Jan Paulsson - a top ten prominent expert in international arbitration, President of the London Court of International Arbitration, World Bank Administrative Tribunal, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Administrative Tribunal and a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague.

Who is Who

Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague (PCA) is an inter-governmental organisation with over one hundred member states - an arbitral body resolving disputes between states, state authorities, inter-governmental organisations and private entities. Originally a platform for dispute resolution between states, PCA was established in 1899.

International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) is a global organisation supporting alternative ways of dispute resolution such as negotiation and mediation. Organising congresses and conferences on international arbitration, ICCA supports the formation of vital publications on dispute resolution and harmonisation of regulations, laws and standards on the arbitration and mediation proceedings.
