Position

Partner in the Banking and Finance team. Focuses on banking, finance and capital markets law. Areas of expertise also include corporate and commercial law. Regularly advises Swiss and international financial institutions in financing transactions, in particular in the capital markets, and regarding regulatory matters, including questions related to licensing and regulatory capital.

Homburger's range of services covers "too big to fail" regulations and fintech-related regulatory advice for banks, investment firms and insurers, as well as financing transactions, securitisation and financial restructuring matters. Jürg Frick handled an up to $150m senior multi-currency revolving credit facility financing transaction between client SR Technics Switzerland, lender Credit Suisse and a consortium consisting of three banks. Other highlights include Daniel Haeberli advising funds managed by Apollo Global Management on an additional facility granted to Airopack Technology by Coöperatieve Rabobank, as well as René Bösch's recovery and resolution-related regulatory advice to Credit Suisse and UBS. Practic head Benedikt Maurenbrecher and Benjamin Leisinger are also key partners.

Within: Insolvency and corporate recovery

Homburger provides bankruptcy, restructuring and transactional advice, while also acting for clients in related litigation and foreign-bankruptcy recognition proceedings. Practice head Stefan Kramer advised Kauphing Bank on its Swiss-law composition plan and the recognition of Icelandic insolvency decrees in Switzerland. Credit Suisse and ISDA are other key clients. Benjamin Leisinger made partner in January 2018. Simon Vorburger  left for Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan (Schweiz) GmbH in July 2018.
