The firm
Advokatfirman Delphi is a full-service commercial law firm with offices in Sweden’s major business centres: Stockholm, Göteborg, Malmö and Linköping-Norrköping. Delphi particularly focuses on corporate law, including M&A, banking and finance, construction, IP, IT and telecoms, life sciences and healthcare, EC and competition, tax, labour and environment.
The firm represents multinational corporations in their activities in Sweden, including cross-border transactions. The firm’s clients include a wide range of both publicly traded and privately held Swedish, US and European corporations, banks, financial institutions and others conducting business nationally and internationally. Many of Delphi’s clients are Fortune 500 companies.
Areas of practice
The firm handles all types of financial transactions, such as drafting consortium agreements and loan documentation, and carrying out due diligence. The firm works cross-departmentally to advise clients on M&A and other multi-competence matters, drawing on its lawyers’ competence in (for example) competition, corporate finance, private equity, venture capital transactions, IP, environment, tax and employment. In terms of number of acquisition deals, Delphi is regularly among the top ten firms in Sweden.
Delphi’s construction department is highly specialised and has represented employers and contractors in all kinds of construction projects relating to buildings, civil engineering and installation for many years.
The firm has one of the largest life sciences and ITC/IP practice groups in Sweden. The firm’s activities in this area cover IT contracts and digital intellectual property rights, including e-commerce, IT outsourcing and contracts, and telecommunications permits.
Working closely with corporations whose trade marks are well known and respected throughout the world, the firm specialises in patents, copyrights, trade marks, infringements and other IP-related issues. The firm’s litigators represent enterprises in court proceedings, arbitration and mediation, both in Sweden and abroad. Several of Delphi’s lawyers also serve as arbitrators in Sweden and internationally.
Delphi handles, on an ongoing basis, notifications and filings with the DGC in Brussels and the Swedish Competition Authority. The firm is also one of the major law firms regularly used to review proposed EU legislation.
Commercial property and insolvency issues, including liquidation and bankruptcies, and public procurement are other major areas of practice.
