Andrew Jackson appoints insolvency lawyer

November 2008

Hull based law firm Andrew Jackson announces that it has recruited insolvency specialist Victoria Strickland as an associate solicitor

Victoria, who joins from Leeds law firm Walker Morris, has over six years' insolvency experience dealing with corporate and personal insolvencies - both contentious and non-contentious – and has practised exclusively in this area throughout her legal career. Victoria advises on all procedural requirements relating to corporate insolvencies including administrations, liquidations (compulsory, voluntary and solvent), and voluntary arrangements. She also deals with reviewing security documentation, recovery of assets using litigation and the sale and purchase of businesses and assets of insolvent companies. When dealing with personal insolvency, Victoria has considerable experience of advising trustees on the recovery of assets including the matrimonial home as well as obtaining bankruptcy orders and providing advice in connection with voluntary arrangements.

Victoria said: "Given the pressures of the economic climate many businesses and individuals are suffering – perhaps due to a drop in sales or a failure of debtors to pay their bills.  As a result, a growing number of companies are looking for help and advice about the options available to them – including restructuring advice or insolvency. We are also finding that an increasing number of companies and individuals are requiring advice in terms of protecting themselves when dealing with suppliers or customers who are potentially facing insolvency.

"Working with a range of clients - including insolvency practitioners, lenders, accountants and company directors – our insolvency team is augmented by the corporate and litigation departments so that we can deliver a fully integrated service."

Rob Penrose, managing partner at Andrew Jackson, said: “I am delighted to welcome Victoria to our firm.  Given her depth of insolvency law knowledge I have no doubt that she will greatly strengthen our client service capabilities."
