Law firm Andrew Jackson strengthens employment team

June 2008

Hull law firm Andrew Jackson announces that it has recruited solicitor Lindsay Gordon and paralegals Joanne Wright and Nicola Leaning to join its growing employment law department.

A member of the Hull branch of Women in Business, law graduate Lindsay handles both contentious and non-contentious cases, particularly in relation to unfair dismissal and disciplinary and grievance procedures. She also has significant experience of contract and policy drafting, as well as advising clients in connection with service agreements.

Having completed the Legal Practice Course to quality as a solicitor last year, Joanne chose to follow a research-based career and has recently completed a Masters in Law. As well as assisting the employment team across a range of cases, Joanne’s research skills are often called upon for particular legal issues.

Upon completion of her legal studies, law graduate Nicola joined a niche Leeds law firm where she gained valuable experience of working with both clients and Counsel, attending civil and criminal court proceedings and working with defendants, insurers, the Police and other investigative bodies.

Drawing on her litigation and client experience, Nicola assists with Employment Tribunal cases as well as drafting employment contracts for clients.

Jonathan Dale, partner and head of the employment department at Andrew Jackson, said:  "I am delighted that Lindsay, Joanne and Nicola have joined our employment department.  Their appointments bring further strength and depth to our client offering and, with six lawyers, we are now the largest team in Hull and East Yorkshire and rival the size of teams offered by many of the larger commercial law practices based in the Yorkshire region.”
