Margaretha (Greet) Wilkenhuysen is a partner with the firm and the head of NautaDutilh's Corporate practice in Luxembourg. She specialises in cross-border corporate transactions, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and international corporate restructuring. Margaretha also has extensive experience in corporate finance and the provision of corporate governance advice to listed companies. She represents both domestic and international clients in a wide range of high-end transactions.


Prior to joining NautaDutilh in 1997, Margaretha practiced law for several years with another well-known law firm in Brussels.


Margaretha is a native Dutch speaker and is fluent in English, French and German.


Margaretha is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (ECVA) and the Duke Alumni Association.
She was admitted to the Brussels Bar in 1993 and to the Luxembourg Bar in 2007.


Margaretha obtained her law degree from the University of Leuven (KUL) in 1991. She also holds a master's degree in business and tax law from the University of Brussels (ULB, 1993) and an LL.M. from Duke Law School in North Carolina (1996).

NautaDutilh has advised on an impressive number of high-profile leveraged finance mandates for both banks and sponsors. Josée Weydert and Margaretha Wilkenhuysen recently acted for a syndicate of international banks, including Credit Suisse and Danske Bank, on the bank and bond financing to facilitate Lone Star's acquisition of Stark Group from Ferguson. Other clients include ABN Amro, Argand Partners and ING Bank.

NautaDutilh's three-partner team is firmly plugged in to the private equity ecosystem and regularly advises clients, including Alchemy Partners, Argand Partners and Carlyle Group, on the Luxembourg structuring pursuant to their investments. Recent highlights include Yoanna Stefanova's representation of Marathon Asset Management on the acquisition of a real estate portfolio (shopping centers) in Spain and Italy, and Margaretha Wilkenhuysen's advice to Grupo Cimcorp (as one of the investors) on the acquisition of Getronics' global operations in the Netherlands and the US.
