Career

Timo Huisman, attorney at law, is a member of the Real Estate practice group. He has been working in the project development and construction sector since 1999. Timo specialises in civil construction law, both (complex integrated and turnkey) contracting and dispute resolution based on inter alia DNR 2011, UAV 2012, UAV-GC 2005 and FIDIC. He advises on development of large-scale residential and nonresidential building projects, acting primarily for developers, investors, health care institutes and housing corporations. He co-chairs the Project Development & Construction Team and is a member of the Energy Team and the Health Care Team.
Furthermore, Timo is co-author and editor of the Loyens & Loeff book 'Building in the Netherlands’. This publication is intended to be a handy overview of the most important legal and tax facets for Dutch building and project development practice.

Timo is a guest lecturer at the Grotius Academy (postgraduate programme Real Estate) and the Academy of Law Practice, and is inter alia a member of the Association of Construction Law-Lawyers and the Dutch Association for Tendering Law.

Education

Dutch law (both Civil Law and Constitutional and Administrative Law) from the VU University of Amsterdam in 1998. He also studied at the Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania (USA) from 1991 to 1992 and at the University of Cape Town (RSA) in 1997.
