Pernille Bigaard is a partner in our Insolvency Law and Restructuring team. She is the appointed administrator of the Insolvency Division of the Danish Maritime and Commercial High Court and is one of the most experienced Danish administrators of estates in bankruptcy.

Pernille has been involved in financial restructuring and bankruptcy proceedings against a number of large Danish undertakings.

Pernille is widely recognised by large international rating agencies as a leading individual in Denmark regarding insolvency and restructuring. Due to her extensive experience and expertise she is often asked to handle the most complex cases in Denmark. Pernille is currently the trustee of the OW Bunker estate, the largest bankruptcy in Denmark in recent history.

Pernille has had a right of audience before the Danish Supreme Court since 1988 and she has conducted several significant cases relating to bankrupt and insolvent undertakings.

Pernille is a trained mediator and she is associated with the Danish Mediation Institute. She has acquired considerable experience in court-based mediation by participating in a pilot scheme under the auspices of the City Court of Copenhagen.

Pernille is the chairman of Foreningen af Danske Insolvensadvokater (Association of Danish insolvency lawyers).

The practice at Plesner is highly skilled in complex bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings; Lars Skanvig, who leads the practice, recently acted for a Danish manufacturing company on its multi-million euro insolvency. Other key figures include Pernille Bigaard and Michala Roepstorff, who are highly experienced in complex cross-border bankruptcies.
