Jean-Michel Degée is part of the Liedekerke's Tax Group. His work covers both the advisory and litigation in a wide variety of tax areas. Jean-Michel assists clients mainly in corporate tax, with a focus on international tax planning, corporate reorganisations and real estate transactions.


Jean-Michel Degée has been with Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick since 1998 and a Partner since 2008. He also teaches tax aspects of corporate reorganisations at the University of Liège (ULg) and is assistant lecturer in charge of exercises in property law at the Law Faculty of the University of Brussels (ULB). He has written numerous articles on tax law and property law.

Jean-Michel Degée has a law degree from the University of Brussels (ULB 1997) and a postgraduate degree in tax law from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven 1998).

Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick's team stands out for its 'top of the league expertise' in the gamut of contentious and non-contentious tax matters, under the leadership of practice head Jean-Michel Degée. It is praised for being 'professional, well informed and always up-to-date'. In addition, it is 'able to work efficiently within tight deadlines'. The group was strengthened in February 2018 by the arrival of counsel An Weyn, who has vast experience of advising family businesses and private clients, from Tiberghien. In other developments, real estate tax expert Pierre Desenfrans made partner, while Steven Peeters (who is knowledgeable about the tax aspects of M&A, financings, refinancings and restructurings) was promoted to counsel. In addition to real estate tax and other transactional tax work, the firm has a standout reputation for tax disputes; 'its experience can make the difference in difficult and complex litigation'.
