Olivier Vanden Berghe heads the Liedekerke Commercial Contracts Practice. He deals with the legal aspects of “business-to-business” transactions in a large variety of sectors, such as energy, pharmaceuticals, automotive, retail, construction and insurance. He assists clients in determining the most appropriate business scheme, anticipating risks, dealing with business-critical situations and preventing or resolving disputes. His activity focuses on distribution networks and cooperation agreements, construction and engineering activities and insurance issues.


Olivier Vanden Berghe has been an attorney in Brussels since 1995 and joined Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick in 2001, where he became a Partner in 2008. He also teaches a course on commercial contracts at the University of Leuven (KU Leuven). He is regularly invited as a speaker and has written various articles on this subject.

Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick handles a range of matters for clients including EDF Luminus, Veolia and Fluxys and is highlighted for its 'in-depth knowledge of multiple facets of European, federal and regional energy law'. A team led by practice head Damien Verhoeven advised Elia on regulatory considerations relating to its infrastructure project for the development of a modular offshore grid. In another work highlight, the group acted for Brookfield Asset Management on the Belgian aspects of its $46bn acquisition of Westinghouse Electric Company from Toshiba Holding. François Tulkens, Olivier Vanden Berghe and Vincent Ost are other key names to note particularly for regulatory, contractual and public procurement advice, respectively. Thibaut Hollanders was recently promoted to the partnership.
