Position

Valérie Simonart is member of the Corporate and Finance Practice Group. She focuses on corporate advice, governance structures, corporate reorganizations and capital market operations (prospectus, market abuse). She has particular expertise in real estate companies (such as REIT’S) and in structural solutions combining corporate and real estate mechanisms. She acts for listed, institutional and private companies, as well as for shareholders and for not-for-profit organisations.

Career

Valérie Simonart began practising law in 1987 and joined Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick in 1994, where she became a Partner in 1997. She is also a professor at the University of Brussels (ULB) where she teaches the law relating to patrimony and legal personality as well as company law.

Languages

French, English.

Education

Valérie Simonart holds a law degree (1986) and a doctor of laws (1993), from the University of Brussels (ULB) with a thesis on legal personality in private law. She also holds a LL.M. from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, USA (1987).
