Christel Van den Eynden is a Partner in the Corporate and Finance Practice Group. She specialises in mergers & acquisitions, cross-border transactions and private equity investments, and she also regularly assists clients in large PPP projects. She advises clients in a wide variety of sectors, including the automotive industry, logistics and port-related activities, the energy and green energy sector, (petro)chemicals, the financial and payment services sector, the IT and high tech sector, hospitality and entertainment sector, and the food industry. She has particular expertise in cross-border acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, and infrastructure projects. She also advises clients on issues of corporate governance, directors’ liability and issues of general corporate law.


Christel Van den Eynden joined Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick in 1999.

Christel Van den Eynden is a member of the Board, Executive and Audit Committee of Lex Mundi; Chair Emeritus cross-border transactions practice group of Lex Mundi;and Member of women on board.


In addition to her law degree from the University of Antwerp (UA 1987), Christel Van den Eynden has a master of arts in international relations from Johns Hopkins University, Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (Bologna, Italy, and Washington D.C.), for which she obtained a Fulbright Scholarship.

Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick's corporate and finance team is highlighted for its 'swift response and hands-on approach, that is straight to the point'. Practice head Christel Van den Eynden and counsel Wim Dedecker —who recently joined the firm from Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton — led a team that acted for Proximus on its acquisition of IT company Codit, this included coordinating local counsel across France, the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Malta and Portugal. In another work highlight, a team led by Damien Conem advised Sonaca on its negotiations for a joint venture with Sabena Aerospace Engineering, aimed at offering maintenance and update services to military aircraft. Jacques Meniuer joined the team from Fieldfisher and has particular expertise handling private equity and capital market transactions. Thierry Tilquin left the firm.
