Filipe Vaz Pinto acts as counsel in domestic and international arbitrations, and related judicial proceedings, in a variety of industry sectors, including aviation, banking, construction, defense, energy, food and beverage, infrastructures, insurance, media and advertising, mining, public-private partnerships, transfers of technology and telecommunications, and with significant experience in M&A and corporate related disputes.

Also acts as Arbitrator and has acted as Arbitral Secretary.

He regularly participates as lecturer in Postgraduate courses on arbitration and participates as speaker in seminars and conferences.


Qualified (2004). Partner (2014) and head of one of Morais Leitão’s dispute resolution teams. Member of the board, Commercial Arbitration Center of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Centro de Arbitragem Comercial da Câmara de Comércio e Indústria Portuguesa). Member of the board, Portuguese Arbitration Association’s under 40 section.    
Filipe Vaz Pinto regularly participates as lecturer in post-graduation courses on arbitration and  as speaker in seminars and conferences.

It represented Sonangol Group in a $2.8bn ICC arbitration regarding alleged shareholders’ agreement breaches. António Pinto Leite led the matter jointly with the ‘excellentFilipe Vaz Pinto.
