Life Sciences Department

Senior Associate

I am a senior associate in the Life Sciences Department of Fieldfisher JAUSAS. My professional career spans more than 15 years as a counsel for companies in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector. I specialise in regulatory law, in particular, in sectoral codes of conduct and compliance policies applicable to the pharmaceutical sector. I have also worked as an in-house legal counsel for companies in the aforementioned field to help them implement internal procedures for compliance with codes of conduct, and I have experience in negotiating all types of contracts for companies in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector.

I previously worked at Fieldfisher JAUSAS’ Litigation Department, thus I have been able to transfer my earlier work experience in handling the management of contentious procedures of companies in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector against government as well as before regular courts and oversight bodies responsible for the application of sectoral codes.

I collaborate on a regular basis with several journals specialising in pharmaceutical law. Moreover, both the Who is Who Legal and Best Lawyers directories acknowledge me as one of the most prestigious lawyers for regulatory counsel for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry since 2014.

Spanish, English and Catalan.

  • Life Sciences Overview 2008/09

Law 29/2006 (26 July 2006) on guarantees and rational use of medicinal products and medical devices is the central regulation governing medicinal products. The law still requires development through a large number of Royal Decrees, during 2008 and 2009. Many provisions of Law 29/2006 (such as the sale by post or by telematic means of certain medicinal products) do not appear to be enforceable until such legislation is enacted. This particularly applies to rules on medical devices, which are included in Law 29/2006, but need legislation to be effectively enforced. Such specific legislation is currently being developed, including for medical prescriptions and traceability.
