Mark W Isola QC acts regularly for several major businesses and developers/landlords/management companies in Gibraltar, including the Government of Gibraltar, and his unique commercial/dispute resolution background, enables him to advise and address almost all issues that might affect any business in their day to day activities, and in particular property, commercial, employment, licensing and general insurance matters. He is well recognised as a leading expert in the field of property and employment law.

Mark W Isola QC is a leading lawyer in property and landlord and tenant work, and acts for several major developers/property management groups and management companies in Gibraltar. His background in both commercial work and dispute resolution, allows a greater insight and perspective, and the ability to address and resolve in an effective and pragmatic manner the more difficult and technical commercial issues arising in respect of property matters, including general building insurance issues.

Mark W. Isola QC is a leading expert in the field of employment law in Gibraltar and has acted on behalf of most major employers, including the Gibraltar Health Authority, the Government of Gibraltar, the Ministry of Defence, and many major businesses in Gibraltar, as well as many senior employees of local companies, who appreciate his ability to resolve their issues in a discrete, sensitive and effective manner. He also acts for several major developers/ property management groups/management companies with respect to their property and landlord and tenant disputes, and is a well-recognised expert in this field, including in relation to planning disputes and property insurance claims.

Mark is a chairman of the Industrial Tribunal of Gibraltar, has formed part of the Minister for Justice's Consultation Committee on the Reform of Employment and Personal Injuries, and been recently appointed by the Chamber of Commerce of Gibraltar to review employment legislation. He has advised most major insurers in Gibraltar, and has a strong commercial knowledge of all issues relating to the petroleum business in Gibraltar.

ISOLAS LLP ‘houses some first-class dispute resolution lawyers’ and the firm is ‘responsive, efficient and understands intimately the Gibraltar litigation landscape’. The team is led by Mark Isola QC, who focuses on employment and landlord and tenant disputes. Also notable in the team is ‘pragmatic’ managing associate James Montado, who is active in litigation arising from cryptocurreny and ‘provides an excellent service’. The firm is representing Jyske Bank in an appeal of a decision by the Supreme Court of Gibraltar, in which the bank was found to have dishonestly assisted a group of fraudsters. In another highlight, the department is acting for Star Poland in general liquidation issues and related claims against former directors. Christian Rocca left the firm in early 2019 to become Director of Public Prosecutions for Gibraltar.

ISOLAS LLP specialises in commercial and residential landlord and tenant work, as well as being active in construction projects at various stages from inception to completion. Mark Isola QC focuses on landlord and tenant disputes and leads a team that includes experienced consultant Elaine Lang, who is an expert in conveyancing. The firm is acting for Europort Holdings on the proposed extension of the offices of the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission. In another highlight, the department is advising MH Bland & Company on the surrender of its existing cable car lease and the granting of a new lease by the Crown, relating to the redevelopment of the cable car.
