ISOLAS today launched its Gibraltar Employment Law Handbook at a breakfast briefing event held at their offices in Portland House this morning.

Mark Isola, a senior partner with ISOLAS, Gibraltar's longest established firm, has been appointed Queen's Counsel.

ISOLAS is, as part of its 120 Celebrations, supporting a member of its staff, Dyandra Borg, as she takes to the limelight in the Miss Gibraltar pageant to be held in April.

The first of its kind in the jurisdiction, the symposium will focus on ship arrest activity internationally as well as in Gibraltar, debt recovery and injunctive relief as well as ship arrest in Spain, a topic which will be covered by a guest speaker, Dr Felipe Arizon.

ISOLAS has recently had the pleasure of welcoming another three lawyers to its team. Marisa Hernandez, Michael Podesta and Danielle Victor joined the ranks of Gibraltar’s longest established law firm at the beginning of October and have been busy, as is customary, organising their calls to the bar in the UK and courtesy calls to the judiciary and other senior members of the local profession.

A group of young entrepreneurs from Gibraltar will compete in the national final of the UK's Young Enterprise awards, which starts in London today.

At a hearing before Mr Justice Dudley, Chief Justice at the Supreme Court of Gibraltar on the 28th February the petitions presented by the Financial Services Commission for the winding up of six companies within the Gibland group were granted. Mr Frederick White and Mr Joseph Canilla were appointed as Joint Liquidators.

ISOLAS are delighted to announce the appointment of Elliott Phillips as a partner of the firm with effect from 1st July 2010

Elliott, who is aged 31 joined the firm in 2002 working closely with Christian Rocca in the litigation department.. He has been heavily involved in a number of significant and important cases working with highly reputable senior counsel. He is now highly regarded and respected by his peers as a responsible and dogged litigator. In addition, he manages a busy commercial practice and is especially well known in the field of employment law.

In a short ceremony at the Tower, members of the Gibraltar Branch of the Royal Engineers Association presented a Corps plaque and a signed philatelic cover to Elliott Phillips of ISOLAS. The presentation commemorates a strong link between the Association and the local law firm.

Gibraltarian judge Anthony Dudley, 43, was yesterday formally appointed Chief Justice of Gibraltar. He is the first Gibraltarian to be appointed to that office on a non-acting basis.

The PJ Isola Foundation, established in 2006 in memory of Peter J. Isola with a view to raising funds for charity, has recently donated funds to a number of local charities.

The PJ Isola Foundation has today donated the sum of £2,000 to St Martin's School, a school dedicated to taking care of the special needs of some of Gibraltar's children.

The PJ Isola Foundation is supporting the Happy Faces trust in a number of projects in the New Year. In an interview with Christian Rocca, the Managing partner at ISOLAS and trustee of the Foundation, explained.

The PJ Isola Foundation today donated the sum of £1,000 to Women in Need, as part of its continuing efforts throughout the community. Collecting the cheque on behalf of Women in Need, Claire Borrell thanked everyone who took part in collecting the funds and explained that the money would be used for a variety of projects and that they were very grateful for the money.

ISOLAS via The “Peter J Isola Charitable Foundation” has sponsored a philatelic cover to provide funds for RAF Gibraltar’s Benevolent Fund. The cover post-marked 19th September 2009 is to commemorate the RAF Station Gibraltar and the visit of the “Red Arrows” aerobatic flight team.
