Career

Jacob Sand was born in 1967 and joined Gorrissen Federspiel in 2005. He became partner and head of Labour & Employment in 2008. His practice areas include all aspects of labour and employment law. Jacob Sand was the co-author of "The Commented Act on the Transfer of Un-dertakings", DJØF 2002. He has a unique knowledge and understanding of all EU law aspects of labour law given his previous work-experience from the European Court of Justice. Prior to joining Gorrissen Federspiel Jacob Sand has worked as attorney for Bech-Bruun Dragsted from 2002 to 2004, as Legal Secretary with the European Court of Justice from 1998 to 2002, as attorney for Aros Advokater from 1995 to 1998 and as attorney and assistant attorney for Bech-Bruun & Trolle 1992-1995. Admission and right of audience. Admitted 1995. Right of audience before the Danish Supreme Court 2005.

Gorrissen Federspiel's practice is jointly led by litigator and EU law expert Jacob Sand, who is 'very competent' and 'a very nice person'; and transactional specialist Morten Skjønnemand. Sand recently acted for the labour union Forbundshus in a case alleging discrimination on the grounds of an employee's obesity, and Skjønnemand assisted Orphazyme with the employment aspects of its IPO on Nasdaq Copenhagen. The Danish National Bank and Danish Crown are also clients. Litigator Anne Skjold Qvortrup is an expert in cases involving both Danish and EU law.
