Position

Partner in charge of Gide's Algiers office which he founded in 2003, Samy Laghouati has been exclusively involved in business ventures and investments in Algeria, acting for both public bodies (government agencies and state-owned enterprises) and foreign investors. He mainly handles privatisations, acquisitions, as well as large-scale infrastructure transactions (real estate and energy, water). He assists his clients with every stage of the deals, from the structuring (legal and fiscal) to the execution and following through of the investments. Lecturing at the Algerian Higher Business School (International Taxation).

Led by Samy Laghouati, the team at Gide Loyrette Nouel handles privatisations, joint ventures, acquisitions, divestments and large-scale infrastructure transactions, assisting both public bodies and foreign investors. A notable highlight was advising Total on a joint venture with Algerian state-owned oil and gas company Sonatrach. Other notable clients include Engie, Volkswagen and Sanofi. Rym Loucif moved to LPA-CGR in 2018.
