Beat Speck's practice is focused on the areas of mergers & acquisitions, redomicilations (in- and outbound), joint ventures and corporate governance. In this regard, he handles, in particular, the entire life cycle of venture capital and private equity financings. He advises national and international investors on the structuring of funds, accompanies the investment process in the holding companies and is available to them during the holding phase. He also helps all participants achieve a successful exit (IPO, Trade Sale, Dual Track). As attorney at law, notary public of the Canton of Zug and issuer’s representative recognized by the SIX Swiss Exchange, he can efficiently offer the individual processes from one source.
Beat Speck regularly publishes articles in the above mentioned areas. Further, he is a member of SECA, the Swiss Private Equity and Corporate Finance Association, as well as of the Private Equity Chapter of Meritas, an international network of business law firms with over 6,500 attorneys in more than 60 countries.

  • Swiss Capital Contribution Principle

    As per 1 January 2011 a new regulation in the Swiss tax law concerning the tax treatment of the repayment of capital contributions enters into force. According to the new rules the repayment of capital contributions is exempt from Swiss income tax (if the shares are owned as private means) and Swiss withholding tax.
